Free-cutting phosphor bronze (such as UNS C54400) and lead-tin bronze (such as UNS C93200) contain lead components, which can reduce tool wear, optimize chip removal, and achieve the best processing performance.
Free-cutting phosphor bronze: High-speed steel tools for turning 100-150 SFM and milling 80-120 SFM. Hard alloy tools for turning 300-500SFM and milling 250-400SFM.
Lead-tin bronze: High-speed steel tools for turning 80-120 SFM and milling 60-100 SFM. Carbide tools for turning 250-400 SFM and milling 200-350 SFM.
There is not a fixed value for it. It all depends on the structure for your CNC bronze parts. A simple bushings takes about 10-30minutes for machining. But for a complex part with many processes usually takes many hours or many days.
