Custom Heatsink Enclosure For Your Industries
A heatsink enclosure is a dual-functional shell that not only protects the sensitive electronic components inside but also achieves highly efficient passive heat dissipation by optimizing the surface area of the housing..
In China, we usually do custom CNC machining aluminum heatsink housing or aluminum extrusion heatsink enclosures. It all depends on your budget, lead time and quality requirement.
For industries like power module, LED, communication equipment and industrial controller, the interior of the shell with heat dissipation function is difficult to dissipate heat, so we usually customize it according to your industrial enclosed application.
Heatsink Enclosures Types
Whether you are conducting design prototyping or carrying out mass production, we can select the appropriate heatsink housing processing type that suits your needs.

Although its cost is low (suitable for mass production), its structure is limited (linear).

Its structural flexibility is high and it is suitable for complex/low-volume production.

This is the most cost-effective way, which helps you reduce a lot of materials.
Heatsink Enclosure By Function
Heatsink CasesWe can customize dimensions according to your drawings, sandblast + silver anodized makes a good performance.

Fanless EnclosureYou always need a cooling case for your fanless PCs, embedded computer enclosures and power supply boxes.
Features of Heatsink Enclosure

More complex heat dissipation fin structures can be achieved, thereby significantly increasing the effective heat dissipation surface area.

Use high thermal conductivity 6061 or 6063 aluminum, and process the entire piece through CNC machining to ensure that heat diffuses quickly and evenly.

Standard roughness Ra 1.6μm. Optional precision milling Ra 0.8μm for critical thermal contact interfaces.

The regular accuracy can reach ±0.05mm, ensures that the end plate, main body and PCB structure have precise coordination.
DFM Optimized CNC Heatsink Enclosure Solution
Not only do we offer CNC processing for heatsink enclosures, but we also provide DFM engineering support from design to mass production, helping you achieve the best balance between structure, cooling, and manufacturing.
- Fin Spacing Manufacturability
We provide DFM recommendations to optimize the balance between cooling and processing stability.
- Deep Cavity Machining Stability
The deep cavity structure is commonly found in computer cooling cases, but there is a risk of deformation and interference with the tools.
We have rich experience in it and will optimize the processing path and sequence.
- Post-Anodizing Dimensional Stability
Anodization can cause micron-scale dimensional changes, we will adjust the tolerance between appearance surface and mating surface.

Risk-Free Engineering to Production
We are not only doing CNC milling machining for your custom heatsink enclosure, but also help you reduce the potential manufacturing risk from design to mass production.
For the critical dimensions, we will do inspection one by one to ensure stable assemblies. In this way, we can help reduce any defective parts in advance.
We attach great importance to your batch consistency and stability rather than how many CNC machines we use.
Choosing Yecheng means choosing precision. Contact us for inquiries at once and you will get DFM feedback within 2hours.
3 Methods To Optimize Your Heatsink Enclosure
We have 3 methods to help you optimize drawings. Check the following if it is helpful to you.
Fin Aspect Ratio: For CNC milling, we recommend a maximum fin height-to-width ratio of 10:1 to ensure tool stability.
Corner Radii: Avoid sharp internal corners; a minimum radius of 0.5mm significantly reduces machining time and cost.
Thermal Interface: Design a localized “boss” or raised surface (flatness <0.05mm) where the heat source meets the enclosure to maximize heat transfer.

In-house Anodize Production Line

Aluminum heatsink enclosures are the most common materials we used in custom heatsink cases. We can do different surface finishing for your parts: sandblast, anodizing, powder coating, e-coating and so on.
As we have our own anodize production line, we recommend that you sandblast and anodize for your heatsink enclosures.
Anodizing will form an oxide layer on the surface of aluminum, which can significantly enhance the heat radiation capability. In addition, our own production line is quite flexible and can be customized according to the color you prefer.
Heatsink Enclosure Applications

A custom heatsink enclosure is required to achieve stable passive cooling under a no-fan condition, to prevent noise and dust accumulation from affecting the reliability of the system.

CNC heatsink enclosure quickly discharges the heat generated by the power module, preventing the temperature from escalating out of control during high-load operation.

Utilizing an integrated heat dissipation structure to enhance the thermal management capability of the LED driver power supply, thereby extending the lifespan of components and improving stability.

A: The CNC heat sink enclosure is more suitable for high-performance, customized, complex-structured and small-batch projects, while aluminum extrusion is more suitable for standardized, large-scale, cost-sensitive applications.
A: Yecheng is a professional CNC heatsink enclosure manufacturer based in China. With a self-owned anodize factory, we can sandblast and anodize. According to your budget, quality and lead time requirement, we will recommend you with a detailed solution.
Typically, the critical dimensions can be controlled within ±0.05mm or even with higher precision. The flatness of the critical contact surfaces can be further optimized through precise milling.
A: Yes, the spacing of the fins depends on the diameter of the tool and the chip removal capability. An overly dense structure may affect the processing stability. We usually provide DFM optimization suggestions.
A: CNC heatsink enclosures are ideal when your design requires:
- Complex 3D thermal structures
- High precision mating surfaces
- Low to medium volume production
- Fast engineering iteration cycles
A: If cost-sensitive → Aluminum extrusion (6063)
If high thermal performance → CNC 6061 or copper insert
If complex structure → CNC 6061 aluminum
If mass production → extrusion + CNC hybrid
Australia Heatsink Enclosure Case Study
Last month, we received a client from Australia for a heatsink enclosure for a power module. During the evaluation process, we compared two options for the client: a pure CNC integrated processing structure, and a solution where the aluminum was extruded first and then further CNC precision processing was carried out.
We detailedly analyzed the processing time, material utilization rate, and overall cost structure. The client initially focused more on the performance solution, but after seeing the clear cost comparison, they understood the fundamental differences in cost and performance between different processes.
Finally, based on the current product introduction requirements at this stage, they chose the cost-effective aluminum extrusion + CNC processing solution for market validation and subsequent iterations.
