Surface Finishing Options
Surface treatment is the “finishing touch” in CNC machining, not only endowing the parts with practical properties such as corrosion resistance and wear resistance, but also creating a refined appearance that meets the requirements of the specific application scenarios.

How to Choose Surface Treatment?
- If corrosion/rust prevention is required (such as in outdoor or humid environments): choose galvanized, chrome-plated, anodized (for aluminum), or electrocoated coatings as the priority.
- To enhance hardness/wear resistance (such as for moving parts, contact surfaces): choose nitriding, quenching, chrome plating, PVD coating;
- To optimize appearance/texture (such as for decorative parts, end products): choose anodizing (with colorability), painting, plastic spraying, polishing, or satin finishing;
- To achieve conductivity/heat conductivity (such as for electronic components, heat dissipation parts): choose conductive oxidation, non-electrolytic nickel plating, or maintain the original metal color (only passivation);
- For bonding/welding (such as for assembly parts): avoid thick coatings. You can choose passivation, phosphating (to enhance adhesion), or only fine polishing.

For Different Materials, How Should We Choose the Surface Treatment?
- Aluminum alloy: Prefer anodization
- Steel / Stainless steel: Prefer chroming plating and polishing
- Copper / Brass: Prefer Plating,anti-fingerprint coating
- Plastic parts: Based on the customers’ requirements. We usually don’t do surface treatment.
About CNC Machined Parts Edge
Eliminate the excessive protrusions at the edges after processing / remove the “sparks” and “sharp impurities” issues
Shape the edges of the parts into inclined planes or arcs to solve the problem of “sharp edges”, and actively optimize the edge shape.
